Founded in 2014, CCL Builders was born from a belief that building projects should be collaborative, stress-free, and delivered to the highest standards. Over the years, we’ve grown from a small, family-led operation into a trusted construction partner for developers, councils, iwi groups, and homeowners.

Meet the founder, Matt Cruickshank. With over 20 years’ experience in the building industry across both New Zealand and the UK, Matt brings a hands-on, practical approach to every project. Working closely alongside his brother Callum, who leads the commercial construction side of the business, Matt has built deep expertise across both residential and commercial builds. As a Licensed Building Practitioner, qualified carpenter, and Bachelor of Commerce graduate, Matt combines proven on-site knowledge with the business expertise to deliver projects with confidence.

He leads a highly skilled, professional team operating right across the South Island, with a strong focus on creating a supportive, family-friendly workplace culture. Adding value at every step and being accountable are core drivers in how Matt works with both clients and staff, ensuring every build is delivered with care, quality, and consistency.
